POWERED BY DREAMS & 🌮

HI there!

I’m a creative kid with my head in the clouds, an avid daydreamer and certified imagineer passionate about turning wild thoughts into reality. My ultimate goal? To share these quirky moments with everyone.

Hailing from La Paz, Bolivia, and now in San Francisco, CA, I bring a global perspective to my craft. With a passport full of stamps and a knack for design, I’ve shaped my career as a Creative Director and Designer in Graphic and Industrial Design, as well as Advertising. Whether crafting graphics or orchestrating large scale events, I’m always up for a creative adventure.

Join me on this journey—creativity is mandatory.

THE CRITIC IS BORN

In comes a child that knows exactly what his heart desires - Did I mention he was stubborn and highly opinionated? This will come in handy later on 😉

A young child holding a pink ice cream cone, standing outside on a light-colored surface, wearing a patterned shirt with red sleeves.

SKETCHING FREE WILLY

Picture this: a young Jamie, pausing his Free Willy VHS every five minutes to draw the orcas. Why? Because they are majestic and Jamie was, well, a bit obsessed. But this was just the beginning. The true catalyst and one of the key bearers to my future design journey was my mama, a creative soul who pushed her three boys to be creatively expressive.

A young child sitting on the carpet watching a large aquarium display of a killer whale on a bright screen in a dark room.

THE DIGITAL AWAKENING

Enter my dad: the computer science wizard who believed that no problem was too big for code to solve. One day, he introduced me to our family computer, an ancient machine that booted up with the urgency of a sloth on vacation. As soon as I laid my hands on that keyboard, it was like magic. I was teleported into a digital world that quickly became my second home.

I started with basic things, like creating pixel art and playing FIFA 94 like there was no tomorrow. Unbeknownst to him, he had handed me one of the keys to my future. It opened up a whole new world of possibilities.

A man is holding a young boy up in the air in an outdoor setting with a brick wall in the background. The boy is reaching toward floating computer components, including circuit boards and vintage technology, that appear to be suspended above them.

THE SCREWDRIVER ERA

Fast forward a few years, and I’m dismantling appliances and calculators in the house. To most people, this might seem like a one-way ticket to grounding, but for me, it was important research. I was curious to know how things worked, which naturally led to making things, as it turned out, my brain was wired to see things in 3D.

GETTING IN TROUBLE

Let’s skip a few years of shenanigans and dive into some paint 🎨 I decide to chase a career in the arts and started attending the Academia de Bellas Artes in La Paz, Bolivia. Fell in love with oil paint but before this could evolve dad shares the news that we are moving again.

…next stop 🛫 —— 🇧🇧 the Caribbean.

SWIMMING THE CARIBBEAN

We’ve landed 🛬 in Barbados 🇧🇧 and I have joined the Fine Art Department @ Barbados Community College. My first interaction with the head of the department - “you’ll either sink or swim here.” Spoiler: I spent a lot of time underwater. But it wasn’t all bad news. As life progressed and I fell in love with photography 📷 and painting a friend introduces me to Photoshop, and suddenly, a whole new dimension opened up. It was a time of growth, struggle, lots of Macaroni Pie and sunburns.

my first big gig

Guess what? - we’re moving again 📦 this time we are heading to Trinidad and Tobago. This adventure was powered by: Monster and curry. Here we start life long relationship with Adobe products and I land my first major ad while working for the Publicis Groupe. The design was festive, colorful, and it had the unmistakable touch of a designer who’d spent years drawing killer whales.

the coin flip to sf 🌉

After watching Tron:Legacy and daydreaming of one day being as creative as Daniel Simon, I faced a crossroads. Should I stay put or add another layer to the onion that is me? Being a fan of high-stakes decisions, I let a coin decide my fate. Heads, I move to San Francisco to study Industrial Design. Tails, I stay home and keep daydreaming of what could be. The coin landed on heads, and just like that, I packed my bags and headed west.

San Francisco was everything I imagined and more. It was where I truly began to hone my craft, immersing myself in the world of Industrial Design. The city’s vibrant character and creative energy were the perfect fuel to my creative 🔥.

DESIGN? MAKE? yes!

IDS reignited my passion for hands-on creation. Suddenly, I found myself spending more time in woodshops and paint rooms than I ever anticipated. Making prototypes of my designs became an obsession. There’s something magical about watching an idea take physical form, about the way time melts away when you’re deep in the zone of making and designing. It’s the closest I’ve been to understand a FLO state where creativity and craftsmanship blend seamlessly, and let the universe speak through you. I cherish every moment of it.

what’s experiential?

As life kept unfolding in the Bay Area, I found myself struck by awe after experiencing immersive events like Meow Wolf. It was like stepping into another dimension, where art and storytelling merged into one 🤯 mind-blowing experience. As I dug deeper into the world of experiential design, I realized that all the pieces 🧩 were fitting together perfectly. My background in graphics and advertising, my recently gained Industrial Design knowledge, and my insatiable curiosity—it all made sense. This was what I was meant to do.

GETTTING IMMERSED

Working with Salesforce was like riding a creative roller coaster from start to finish. And Tesla? That was a crash course into quick thinking and even quicker designing. I learned that creativity isn’t just about big ideas but also about being able to pivot faster than you can say Elon Musk.

After Tesla, I had the incredible opportunity to work with Toyota. Designing, developing and everything in between for Toyota events and auto shows. This stage has been all about creating immersive spaces and guided journeys that showcase beautiful stories for a variety of brands and products. I continuously push towards collaborative work and leading through purposeful creation.

What’s next? well that’s up to you 🫵 - let’s write the next chapter together.

The background on the right is a textured, swirling pattern.

THE PHILOSOPHY

From there, it’s all about being purposeful and leading with empathy.

EVERY IDEA STARTS WITH A PENCIL UNLESS ALL YOU HAVE IS A PEN

Crafting experiences that connect with people. Think of it as a love letter to the world that says, I see you - also, here’s a cool design.
